Dr. Alfarghal Mohamad

An expert audiovestibular medicine physician, he has completed his medical degree in 1996, followed by one-year obligatory internship, then he spent two years as neurology resident before he shifted his career to audiovestibular medicine. By 2004, he has completed residency training program in audiovestibular medicine at Ain Shams university, Egypt. In 2005 he became in charge for the specialized Vertigo and Hearing Disorders clinic at Madinah National Hospital, Medina, Saudi Arabia.  Despite that he had achieved great success and gained great reputation in very short time, he believed that he is need for much more professional development. He started a long learning journey to become a master in different aspects of audiovestibular medicine. He started building his own huge audiology and vestibular library. In 2006 he received his first extensive overseas training in Denmark, followed by more and more training courses with international experts. He was able to implement every new skill he acquires into his clinical practice. In 2008 he moved to UAE, where he was in charge of very well-equipped audiology and vestibular unit at Umm Al Quwain hospital which belongs to Ministry of Health. His assignment was dual in ENT and Audiovestibular medicine. At the same time, he was assigned as clinical tutor at Gulf Medical university, he was teaching Otolaryngology for medical students and was very successful. At beginning of 2011, he moved to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to join ENT department at King Abdelaziz Medical city -Jeddah, a well-known tertiary care hospital with ORL residency training program. He has been a certified instructor for Saudi ORL board residents for 10 years. In the last 4 years he is teaching movement science and vestibular rehabilitation at King Saudi ibn Abdulaziz university for health sciences for occupational therapy students. In his journey pursuing perfection in clinical practice and excellency in serving patients, he passed the exam and obtained Canadian Clinical Competency in Audiology certificate (2012), Advanced Studies in Cochlear Implants diploma (2013) and Audiology Doctorate at Salus university (2015), USA and American Board of Audiology (2018) . Tinnitus management certificate at Aston university, UK (2016). BMJ diploma in Quality (2018). Alfarghal believed that to become a master you should learn from the masters, in vestibular field he was craving to learn from the masters in neurotology and vestibulogy for years and years, the same in tinnitus, auditory electrophysiology, hearing aids and implantable auditory prosthesis, he travelled for many countries and received uncountable number of condensed training and short clinical fellowships. One of the funny things that Western Ontario, Canada designed a formal training course for one person especially for him in 2012. In the field of audiovestibular medicine, there is different aspects: medical , clinical and technical or instrumental aspects and there is no one program in the world which covers all these aspects in a perfect way and it took many years and tremendous effort and very huge cost from Dr. Alfarghal Mohamad to be the clinician he wanted for himself ,that is why he used to share his learning journey with colleagues from allover the world through his well-known professional Facebook group (AVISA ) . Alfarghal has published scientific articles, wrote book chapters, presented in many conferences, conducted tens of successful workshops, and directed many master classes, he has founded AVISA online platform which conducted 1st and 2nd online vestibular diploma and 1st cochlear implants from A-to-Z educational program. His valued mission is to provide affordable, feasible, comprehensive high level education and training in the field of Hearing and Balance disorders for different medical ,clinical and health specialties involved in this field .​
